The historical origin of barbed wire?

The barbed wire is twisted and braided by a fully automatic barbed wire machine. Commonly known as Tribulus terrestris, barbed wire, barbed wire. Types of finished products: Single-filament twist braiding and double-filament twist braiding. Raw material: high quality low carbon steel wire. Surface treatment process: electro-galvanizing, hot-dip galvanizing, plastic coating, plastic spraying. There are blue, green, yellow and other colors. Uses: Used for isolation and protection of grassland boundaries, railways, highways, etc.

The origin of the barbed wire is about the middle of the nineteenth century, and the migration of agriculture in the United States. Most farmers began to clear the wasteland, moving westward to the plains and the southwest frontier, respectively. Farmers have become more aware of changing the environment due to the migration of agriculture, which has marked a gradual shift from the woodlands of the east to the drier grassland climates of the west. Because of the difference in temperature and geographical location, the plants and habits of the two places are also very different. Before the land was reclaimed, due to the abundance of stones and lack of water sources, after agriculture migrated over, due to the lack of agricultural tools and corresponding agricultural techniques adapted to the local area, many places were unoccupied by no one. For the new planting environment, farmers began to set up barbed wire fences in their planting areas in order to adapt to many people.

Due to the migration from east to west, raw materials were provided to the vast number of people. From the original east they had built walls made of stone. During the process of migration to the west, people found many tall trees, wooden fences and raw materials. This gradually spread to the south, where cheap labor made construction easy again, but in the far west, where rocks and trees were not so abundant, the setting of fences was not so extensive.

Due to the lack of materials in the early wasteland reclamation, people’s traditional conception that the fence can play a protective role can prevent other external forces from being destroyed and trampled by animals on their own borders, so the awareness of protection is very strong.

Due to the lack of wood and stone, people are constantly looking for alternatives to fencing to protect their crops. From 1860 to 1870, people began to cultivate plants with thorns as fences, but they had little effect because of the scarcity of plants, high prices, and inconvenience in construction, so they were abandoned. Due to the lack of fences, the land reclamation process was not so smooth. It wasn’t until 1873 that a new study changed their predicament. DeKalb, Illinois, invented barbed wire to defend their land. Since then, the barbed wire has just entered the process of history.
